Founder and creative director of Jo Hamilton Interiors, Jo is often listed among the best British and London interior designers. She is noted for her confident grasp of colour, intelligent use of space and elegant luxury aesthetic. She is also a respected public speaker, writer and broadcaster.
Jo has been running her London interior design studio for more than 30 years, specialising in high-end residential and commercial interiors. She has worked on luxury homes and spaces in London and across the UK and overseas, including New York, Miami, Geneva and Dubai, among others. Projects have ranged from exclusive city apartments to stylish country retreats; from bars, clubs and restaurants to homes, offices and hotels.
She has been an ambassador and key speaker for interior design exhibitions House Ireland and Index Dubai. She was a show ambassador, and long-term resident interior designer, for Grand Designs Live along with Kevin McCloud, George Clarke and Charlie Luxton. Further public speaking appointments have included expert panel discussions and speeches at luxury homewares brand Armani Casa's Knightsbridge store, the ICFF (International Contemporary Furniture Fair) in New York, and Tinta (Taiwan Interior New Talent Awards) in Taipei. She has also spoken at London's Decorex and the International Property Awards, for which, along with the What House? Awards and Index Architecture and Design Awards, she has served as a judge.
Jo makes regular contributions to the media regarding luxury interior design, including The Times, The Independent, BBC, Daily Express, Daily Telegraph, Metro, Irish Independent, rightmove and Country & Town House. She was interiors columnist for Hampstead newspaper Ham&High Express, and featured as a high-end interior design and lifestyle commentator in Sky's Who'd Be a Billionaire? television series.
Jo is a keen supporter of the NSPCC and has contributed a number of places on her interior design courses, in addition to her interior design consultation services, to fund-raising auctions. She is also involved in a Goodweave initiative organised with Jacaranda Carpets & Rugs and KLC interior design school to raise awareness of child labour in supply chains.
Recognition of Jo’s wider work came with an invitation to 10 Downing Street with then-Prime Minister David Cameron to meet with entrepreneurs and others involved in community welfare projects.
