WORK WITH US: CREATING BESPOKE HIGH-END INTERIORS

WHY JO HAMILTON INTERIORS?

Each client and every property is different. What stays the same is my passion for great design and providing a high quality, personal interior design and interior architecture service that results in elegant, luxurious interiors. This is because the thrill of discovering beautiful new materials is as powerful today as it was when I first became a designer more than 30 years ago.

One of the highlights of my work remains witnessing the joy of a client when they feel seen and heard in my designs. I’m also still exhilarated by the challenge of identifying how we can add value to a property.

We are a close-knit studio and I am deeply involved in all aspects of the interior design process, which means every project is truly bespoke, with each element painstakingly, but enthusiastically, considered.

It’s this enthusiasm, experience on-site and in the studio, and an eagerness to embrace new technologies, that help to ensure we stay at the forefront of luxury interior design.

01. WHO DO WE WORK WITH?

Clients include private homeowners, developers, investors and businesses, and so budgets, briefs and deadlines also vary hugely — as does the level of input from our clients and whether communication is in person, or electronically via Zoom, for example.

We work on all types and ages of property, from high-rise city apartments and newly-built showhomes, to architecturally significant houses and grand country manors; from restaurants and hotels to shops and offices.

We work collaboratively with client architects and can also introduce you to some that we already know, along with other professionals and construction teams.

We can also help with individual trades such as bathroom fitters, decorators, electricians, tilers, etc, if a client is carrying out smaller scale works rather than building or renovating an entire property.

02. HOW DO WE WORK?

It’s important to us that clients feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the process, so it is vital that costs are clear from the outset and tailored to fit the budget set by the client.

There are numerous models for working with an interior designer and we’re happy to consider each, or any combination, of these — whether that’s a total cost based on a price per sqm; a percentage of total costs per budget for build or  FF&E, for example; retainer; or hourly/daily consultation.

We are happy to help clients divide budgets so that design costs can be separated — for instance we can produce a kitchen design or lighting plan as individually-priced pieces of work.

03. WHEN DO WE GET INVOLVED?

Most clients come to us right at the start of their project — before a spade even hits the ground — and the earlier we can be involved the better.

Construction can be a very stressful process and it’s one where our loyalty is always to our client — and their interior design aspiration, which is something that can be at risk of compromise in earlier stages.

We can help to develop plans, or review existing ones, including lighting and electrics. We create 3D computer models and produce furniture layouts, kitchen and bathroom designs, joinery concepts and panelling arrangements, among lots of other things that are essential to the success of a fully considered scheme.

Sometimes clients just need help on minor build work. For example, a bathroom refurb, extension, redecoration or a new kitchen. We can design these and then also have the industry contacts to deliver, including supply, manufacture, installation and construction — at competitive prices.

04. HOW CAN WE HELP ON SITE?

As one of the leading luxury interior design companies in London, we offer a comprehensive architectural and project management service for construction projects throughout Greater London and the Home Counties. Clients can choose a project management fee structure that suits them best, including by the hour or build cost percentage.

05. WHEN DO WE GET STARTED?

Our meetings can begin straight away, even if an architect is yet to be appointed. Interior design work is best run in parallel with, or preferably ahead of, the development of construction proposals.

Initial meetings are dedicated to determining our client’s needs, personal preferences, and how they see spaces being used. The first meeting is complimentary.

Insights gained in these early meetings allow us to develop the interior design so that it is completely unique; made to fit our clients perfectly.

06. WHAT ABOUT CONSULTATION?

Some clients prefer to manage their own designs and just need guidance and advice. For this, the consultation model usually works best.

Fees for Jo’s consultation are: half-day £800 (three and a half hours) or full-day £1,500 (seven-hour day). Travel costs not included. Click here to contact us with any enquiries about a consultation with Jo and we can advise on how to get the most out of the time.

08. WHAT HAPPENS?

Each room or space is meticulously curated according to the client brief with colour schemes, furniture selections, lighting specifications, floor finishes, fabric palettes, and layouts.

Designs are communicated through mood board and sample boards, but key to helping clients visualise the space as we propose it is our use of speciality interior design software that communicates our high-end visions quickly and clearly.

Photo-realistic CGIs are also produced, where requested, providing clients with further visualisation of the proposed design if it is required.

We welcome and incorporate client feedback throughout, ensuring complete satisfaction from concept to completion. We view the process of creating luxury interior design as an ongoing conversation.

Depending on how you want to work with us, design items that we have specified and that have been agreed can be purchased directly through us at competitive or even discounted prices, or elsewhere.

Our renovation was so much harder than I was expecting, but Jo was there all along helping me to make the right decisions about things I didn’t even think might be important. I love my house. I love being in it and that is all thanks to Jo and the team”

Yelena Petrov, Kensington, London

“The development at Elton Terrace [Kingston, London] is a combination of traditional Victorian style architecture and internal modern living and Jo was completely in tune with the qualities of the development and brought enthusiasm and skill to her interior design. Jo and her team worked within their budget and timescales to deliver us a show home of the highest quality with their skilful colour palettes, materials and textures. Many thanks Jo, and I hope this is the first of many”
